Hyoscine butylbromide is an anti muscarinic and smooth muscle relaxant with anti-spasmodic properties and provides relief from cramps in the stomach, intestines, genito-urinary tract and symptomatic relief in irritable bowel syndrome. It may also decrease the absorption of oral medicines due to decreased gastric motility and delayed gastric emptying and could also cause constipation.
